Delhi - Kathmandu - Lumbini - Sarasvati - Kushinagar - Patna - Bodhgaya - Varanasi - Agra - Jaipur - Delhi

We, Tour-India offer a Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour where you are provided with the opportunity to visit the Buddhist sacred places of Nepal and India. The places covered under this tour package include Delhi, Kathmandu, Lumbini, Sarasvati, Kushinagar, Patna, Bodhgaya, Varanasi, Agra, and Jaipur. This tour is of sixteen days and fifteen nights and the itinerary of this tour is as follows:

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi airport you will be assisted by our staff and transfer to hotel for relaxing and overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi - Kathmandu (By air at 1000 hrs / 1300 hrs)

Delhi - Kathmandu (By air at 1000 hrs / 1300 hrs)In morning we will transfer you to International airport to board the flight for Kathmandu and on arrival at Kathmandu our representatives will transfer you to hotel. After relaxing we take you on the flying visit of the beautiful Kathmandu city. The places covered on this tour are Royal Palace and Thamel market place. Enjoy your evening and we transfer you to hotel for the night stay.

Day 03: Kathmandu

We take you on Kathmandu sightseeing in the morning covering sacred temples and places of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Temple is the most sacred Hindu temples built in 1696 and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A short drive from this temple will take you to World's largest Stupa that have four eyes in four directions that symbolized as eye on welfare and behavior of human beings. This Stupa was built by Man Dev and is always surrounded by devotees of Lord Buddha. Later we take you on excursion of Kopan Monastery. In evening we take you to the oldest Buddhist shrine Swayambhunath from where one can have a view of entire Kathmandu valley. A short drive from here will take you to National museum that will provide idea of ancient Nepal. Later we move you on to Kathmandu Durbar Square and the old Royal Palace. Finally we take you to Kasthamandup, a temple built from a single tree and from which the city has derived its name.

Day 04: Kathmandu - Bhairawa

We drive you 262 km west of Kathmandu to Bhairawa and transfer you to hotel for relaxing and overnight stay.

Day 05: Bhairawa - Lumbini

Early morning we drive you 21 km to Lumbini, which is the birth place of Lord Buddha. Other interesting places of Lumbini include image of Maya Devi, Lord Buddha, Old Monastery, ponds etc. Numerous beautiful shrines have been built recently in Lumbini and a committee has also bet set up for the development of this sacred place. Lumbini visit is not only worth for spiritual enlightenment but it also provides peace and satisfaction that one can achieve only from a place like this.

Day 06: Lumbini - Sonauli - Sarasvati - Balrampur

We will take you on short drive to Sonauli border and from there you will be transfer to Balrampur and on the way you will be taken on Sarasvati sightseeing. This city is believed to be founded by the King Sarasvati and is renowned for majestic monasteries, age-old Stupas, and several temples. This sacred place is renowned for Anand Bodhi tree, an offspring of one is said to have been planted by Anand, Buddha's main disciple. We move you to hotel in Balrampur for the overnight stay.

Day 07: Balrampur / Kushinagar (216 kms. / 5 hrs)

In morning we drive you to Kushinagar and on reaching Kushinagar you will be transfer to hotel and later taken on the visit of Rambhar Stupa, which is the Buddha's cremation ground. We also take you to Mahaparinirvana temple that houses the Lord Buddha recumbent figure.

Day 08: Kushinagar / Patna (253 kms. / 6 hrs)

We drive you to Patna in the morning and transfer you to hotel and in afternoon we take you to visit Patna Sahib, the place where Guru Gobind Singh was born in 1776. Another major attraction of Patna includes Gol Ghar from where one can have a fine view of River Ganga and the surrounding city of Patna. Patna Museum is another attraction of Patna that holds a rich collection of Mauryan and Buddhist sculptures, and terracotta etc.

Day 09: Patna / Bodhgaya (109 kms. / 4.5 hrs)

In morning we drive you to Bodhgaya and transfer you to hotel. Bodhgaya is considered as the most sacred place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under a Peepal Tree some 2500 years back.

Day 10: Bodhgaya

BodhgayaWe take you on Bodhgaya sightseeing covering places such as Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum, Jagannath Temple and many more. Mahabodhi Temple depicts the various phase of the life of Buddha where as Jagannath Temple Lord Shiva four armed statue in black stone.

Day 11: Bodhgaya / Varanasi (242 kms./06 hrs.)

We drive you to Varanasi in the morning and transfer you to hotel. On the way we take you to Sarnath, which is an important Buddhist pilgrimage centre.

Day 12: Varanasi / Agra (Overnight Train)

In Varanasi we take you on exciting boat ride on river Ganges, where there are about hundred of Ghats. Varanasi is also renowned for various sacred temples such as Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, and various other temples. Bharat Mata Temple house the huge relief map of Indian subcontinent in marble and the Tulsi Manas Temple built in 1964 is dedicated to Lord Rama. In evening we transfer you to railway station to board the train for Agra.

Day 13: Agra

On arrival to Agra in the morning we will transfer you to hotel and later in afternoon we will take you on Agra sightseeing covering exciting places of Agra such as Taj Mahal, Red Fort and others historical monuments and places. Taj Mahal, brilliance architectural display of white marble has exquisite Pietra Dura work on its walls and Red Fort is simply fabulous having courtyards, fountains and gates.

Day 14: Agra / Jaipur (250 kms. 05 hrs)

In morning we drive you 250km to Jaipur and on way we take you to Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted town that was once the capital of Akbar. On reaching Jaipur we transfer you to hotel for relaxing and overnight stay.

Day 15: Jaipur

We drive you to Amber Fort, which is situated just outside the city and is perhaps the perfect example of Rajasthani Forts. Explore this fort while riding on the elephant back and later in afternoon we take you on Jaipur sightseeing. We cover various interesting places of Jaipur such as City Palace, which is the heart of Jaipur City and is renowned for the perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Near this fort is the Central Museum, which has the large collection of woodwork. Another nearby monument is the Jantar Mantar, one of the largest five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh. Hawa Mahal is the other major attraction of Jaipur built for the royal ladies.

Day 16: Jaipur / Delhi (250 kms. 4.5 hrs) - Back Home

We drive you 250 km to Delhi and on reaching Delhi you are move to hotel for relaxing and farewell dinner and then transfer to International airport to board back home flight.

Optional Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour of six nights and seven days of Kathmandu and Lumbini is offered and tourist interested can extend this tour. Itinerary followed for this tour are as follows:

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu

On reaching Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representatives and transfer to hotel for resting and relaxing. Kathmandu is considered by tourist as the starting and ending point of Nepal tour.

Day 02: Visit Buddhist Religious Sites in Kathmandu, Overnight in Hotel, Kathmandu

We will organize complete day tour of famous Buddhist sites in the valley like Bauddha Nath Stupa, Swayambhu Nath Stupa, Kashya Swayambhu Stupa, Kapan Monastery, White Monastery and numerous other Buddhist Vihars, shrines and spots.

Day 03: Visit Patan City & Pharping Village. Overnight in Hotel Kathmandu, Kathmandu

In morning we take you to Maha Buddha Temple, Buddhist Vihars, Machhendra Nath Temple in Patan. After lunch we drive you 18km to Pharping village where you can visit various monasteries, temples Stupas and cave of Padma Sambhawa. We drive you back to Kathmandu for night stay.

Day 04: Drive to Lumbini, Overnight in Hotel, Lumbini

A drive from Kathmandu to Lumbini of 310km usually take about seven to eight hours and almost half the journey till Narayan Ghat follows river and passes through exciting high-way settlements, forest and fields. This journey is a delight for the nature lovers as one can experience the natural and interior beauty of Nepal.

Day 05: Visit Lumbini Garden & Surroundings, Overnight in Hotel, Lumbini

Lumbini is regarded most by the tourists as this is the birth place of Lord Buddha. This place is enlightened one as there is an inscribed pillar erected 318 years after the emperor Ashoka visited Lumbini in 245 BC and left many inscribed pillars in this region.

Day 06: Fly back to Kathmandu, Overnight in Hotel, Kathmandu

We will move you to Bhairahawa Airport to board your Kathmandu flight. You will be received by our representatives at Kathmandu Domestic airport and transfer to hotel, where you are free to involve in your personal activities.

Day 07: Kathmandu back home

We transfer you to International airport to board the flight of back home.
