South India Tour

Day 01: Arrive Chennai.

Assistance on arrival by our Company Tour Manager at Chennai International airport, transfer to hotel. After freshen up take a sightseeing tour of Chennai covering Marina Beach, Saint George Fort which is used as the state government secretariat, Santhome Cathedral, kapaleeswarar Temple and Parthasarthy Temple. Evening free at leisure, overnight in Chennai.

Day 02: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram (58 kms - 2 to 3 hrs)

Post breakfast checkout & drive to Mahabalipuram enroute visit Kanchipuram known city of 1000 Temples, visi the main temples of Kanchipuram; the Ekambaswara, the Kailasnatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varada-Rajaswami. After the visit drive to Mahabalipuram on arrival transfer to beach resort. Earl evening meet your guide & take Mahabalipuram sightseeing visiting the Shore Temples, the seven pagodas & on the sea shore you will see group of ancient rock hewn temples of Dravidian era. Evening free to relax,, overnight in Mahabalipuram.

Day 03: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (132 kms – 3 to 4 hrs drive)

After breakfast checkout & drive to Pondicherry, on arrival transfer to hotel. Later sightseeing of Pondicherry a French Colony earlier now a union territory. Visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry Museum, Bharthidasan Memorial museum & Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Evening at leisure, overnight in Pondicherry.

Day 04: Pondicherry – Chidambaram - Tanjore (203 kms - 4 to 5 hrs drive)

After breakfast checkout & drive to Tanjore, enroute visiting the famous Chidambaram Temple. On arrival in Tanjpre transfer to hotel. Day free to relax, later in the day take a sightseeing tour of Tanjore the ancient capital of Chola kings. Visit the Brihadeshwara the crowning glory of Chola temple architecture & Thanjavur Palace which has huge corridors, spacious halls, observation and arsenal towers. Evening free for individual activities, overnight in Tanjore.

Day 05: Tanjore – Trichy (50 kms – 1 to 2 hrs)

After breakfast checkout & drive to Tiruchirapally, on arrival transfer to your hotel. Later in the day meet your guide for Trichy sightseeing cover the famous - the Rock Fort Temple perched high on a rocky outcrop which rises abruptly from the plain to tower over the old city, later visit the famous Sri Ranganathanswami Temple - This temple is one of the largest and most interesting temple complexes in India built on an island in the middle of the Cauvery River and covering a staggering 2.5 sq km also visit and Jambukeshwara Temples. Evening free, overnight in Trichy.

Day 06: Trichy – Madurai (165 kms - 3 to 4 hrs drive)

Post breakfast checkout and drive to Madurai, on arrival transfer to your hotel. Later in the day take a sightseeing tour of Madurai visiting the famous Meenakshi Temple with its towering Gopurams. Also visit the Tirumalai Nayak palace. Evening free, overnight in Madurai. 

Day 07: Madurai – Munnar (150 kms – 5 to 6 hours)

Morning proceed to Munnar after breakfast, through lush green Cardamom, Coffee & Tea Plantations, on arrival transfer to you hotel. Rest of the day free to relax in Munnar with serene surroundings or take a walk in the markets of Munnar to get some good tea & coffee packs. Overnight in Munnar.

Day 08: Munnar

After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Munnar covering Eravikulam National Park this is the only National Park in India where Indian Ibex are found, other animals found here are Deer, Monkeys, Squirrel, but etc. Later visit Top Station & Muttupatty Dam, tea estates, & Kanan Devan Hills for Panoramic view of Munnar.

Day 09: Munnar – Thekkaddy (Periyar National Park) (110 kms – 4 hrs drive)

Morning proceed to Periyar National Park after breakfast, on arrival transfer to your hotel. Time free to relax till your Jungle Safari by Boat in Periyar Lake which starts at 1330 hrs to 1530 hrs, this sanctuary is a tiger reserve, if you are lucky you can spot the tiger during the safari, other animals commonly seen are elephants & the deer’s. After safari visit the spice market of periyar, overnight in Periyar.

Day 10: Periyar – Kumarakom (70 kms – 1 to 2 hrs)

Ppost breakfast checkout & drive to backwater country Kumarakom surrounded by all sides by backwater, on arrival transfer to one of the lake facing hotels with unrestricted view of never ending lake of Vembanad. A very relaxing destination, you can visit Kumarakom bird sanctuary at a short walk. Evening one can opt for sunset cruise. Overnight in Kumarakom.

Day 11: Kumarakom – Alleppey (BY Kettuvellams – Houseboats)

Morning at leisure after breakfast, at 1200 hrs board the houseboat directly from your hotel jetty & start your overnight journey to Alleppey cruising through Vembanad Lake from backwater of Alleppey to Palm fringed narrow canal winding through the vast expanse of paddy field and the neat tiny hamlets & typical villages, snake boats for which Kerala is very famous. Our deluxe houseboats have Sitting Area, Dinning Area, Sun Deck to enjoy sunset and fishing, Bed room with double & twin beds with attached English toilets and running hot & cold water. Typical Kerala cuisine for the authentic feel. Overnight in the houseboat.

Day 12: Alleppey – Kovalam (175 kms – 5 to 6 hrs)

Morning final cruise of an hour followed by authentic breakfast, arrive Alleppey Jetty, assistance on arrival drive to Kovalam enroute sightseeing tour Trivandrum city visit Padamanbhaswamy Temple & Palace, Napier Museum & Chitra Art Gallery. Later proceed to Kovalam, on arrival transfer to beach resort, evening is free, overnight in Kovalam.

Day 13: Kovalam –Kanya Kumari – Kovalam (85 kms – 3 hrs – one way)

Morning excursion tour of Cape Camorin – Kanya Kumari. Arrive Kanya Kumari & visit Kumari Amman Temple, Rock Temple & Swami Vivekananda Ashram. See the 2 seas meet The Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal & Arabian Sea. Later drive back to Kovalam, relax & overnight in Kovalam.

Day 14: Kovalam – Cochin (200 kms – 5 to 6 hrs)

Morning checkout after breakfast & drive to Cochin, on arrival transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free to relax, evening enjoy Kathakali Dance Performance, overnight in Cochin.

Day 15: Cochin – Onward Destination.

After breakfast sightseeing tour of Cochin visiting Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue - one of the oldest in the country & Fort Cochin Beach to see the Chinese Fishing Nets. After the sightseeing tour proceed to Cochin airport to board the flight for onward destination.
